WORLDSPAN will be announcing details of its new pricing model later this year, having claimed that its current pricing system is clearly broken. According to internet news service TravelMole, the company said that current GDS pricing models require travel suppliers to bear virtually the entire cost of electronic distribution and ideally the aim of the new model would be to reduce supplier distribution costs. Worldspan has already identified a number of pricing model options, and will continue to explore additional solutions. Feedback from customers, including distributors and suppliers, will assist the development of the new pricing model. (Heather Ruddock)
