THE Game Capture School in South Africa is introducing an elephant capture course presented by veterinarians, to ensure that elephants being captured and translocated are being handled professionally, ethically and safely. There is a growing need to manage the increasing elephant populations in Africa and to move elephants from high density areas to less populated reserves. "The course is for conservationists, zoo personal, animal handlers, elephant owners, game capturers, and also for just fascinated persons," said md of the Game Capture School, Petronel Nieuwoudt.
