MAJOR tourism stakeholders will be visiting Mpumalanga's Songimvelo locality in Mpumalanga on April 12 to conduct a tourism awareness and education roadshow aimed at informing communities and SMMEs about tourism support services that are on offer and how to effectively access them. Stakeholders include the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism (Deat), SA Tourism, Tourism Enterprise Programme, Department of Trade and Industry, Proudly South African, Tourism Hospitality and Education Training Authority and the South African Tourism Institute. The programme for the day will include presentations by the mayor, Deat officials and tourism stakeholders. Also in attendance will be community leaders, local councillors as well as local entrepreneurs. Theatre entertainment will form part of the programme. The roadshow marks the first of what is to become a series of roadshows throughout the nine provinces. (Miguel de Sousa)
