ROVOS Rail is to operate a new nine-day golf safari between Cape Town and Pretoria in December 2005. The new safari will replace the existing December departure of the tri-annual golf safari itinerary (currently Pretoria, Mpumalanga, Swaziland, KwaZulu Natal, Sun City and Pretoria), while the April and August 2005 golf safaris will operate on the existing itinerary as usual. Should the new programme be well received, it may become a permanent addition to the Rovos Rail annual golf safari programme. The new Cape Town – Pretoria Golf Safari Itinerary offers a link between the two destinations providing golfing highlights, such as the Fancourt Links Course, the Pezula Golf Club in Knysna, Humewood Golf Course in Port Elizabeth and the Lost City Golf Course at Sun City. The non-golfers itinerary includes a wine tasting excursion, ostrich farm tour, visit to Tsitsikamma National Park and a game drive in Pilanesberg Game Reserve. (Natalia Thomson)
