From July 16 of this year, Kenya Airways will be increasing its flights to include two additional night flights a week. These night flights, scheduled for a Tuesday and Friday evening, are expected to improve the connections between Kenya Airways and its vast intra-African route network. The airline management expects these new flights to make travel to Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and the Ivory Coast in West Africa, as well as to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ethiopia in Eastern Africa, more easily accessible and more convenient in terms of travel time. Kenya Airways, having celebrated its Silver Jubilee anniversary in March of this year, foresees these developments as aiding the transformation of the airline into an increasingly profitable entity. Further developments towards this cause include the acquisition of a modern fleet of aircraft, and the ordering of three aircraft for delivery in 2004. (Heather Ruddock)
